Weekly Bangladesh, a freely distributed Bangla newspaper published in New York City by News Bangladesh Inc., serves as a primary news source for the Bangladeshi community living in the five boroughs of New York City. The newspaper is published every Thursday.  It is available for 50 cents outside New York City and primarily focuses on local community events, culture, and updates from Bangladesh. Launched on March 26, 1998, on Bangladesh’s Independence Day, Weekly Bangladesh gained popularity among Bangladeshi immigrants in the United States, particularly first-generation expatriates who prefer news in Bangla. Initially published from New York City, the newspaper’s distribution expanded to major U.S. and Canadian cities with significant Bangladeshi populations.
