United Taxi Drivers Association (NYC), Inc. is a Bangladeshi taxi drivers organization in New York City. The association was established in 2012 as a not-for-profit organization to unite Bangladeshi taxi drivers to mobilize toward a common goal of mutual development. The association is active in New York political scene. Founded by Osman Chowdhury, a Bangladeshi-American who has been driving taxi for many years with reputation. United Taxi Drivers Association works as an advocacy agency to the common welfare of all taxi drivers of New York City – Bangladeshi as well as all ethnic communities.

The aims of United Taxi Drivers Association (NYC)

  • Unite and develop Bangladeshi and non-Bangladeshi taxi drivers of New York City to be professionally.
  • Advocate, lobby and actively seek safe, secure working environment for all taxi drivers.
  • Encourage the NYC taxi drivers as the ambassadors of New York City to tourists and visitors.
  • Train (seminars, discussion groups, workshops, flyers) taxi drivers to provide best possible service to all taxi passengers.
  • Promote the civil and human rights of low-income taxi workers, including improving their health, safety, and well-being.
  • Liaison and cooperate with NYC government, not-for-profit organizations, other taxi associations on policy matters beneficial to taxi drivers.
