Bangladeshi American Cultural Association, Inc. (BACA), a New York City-based organization established in 2014, aims to promote Bangladeshi culture among Bangladeshi immigrants residing in the Bronx borough. Through its diverse range of cultural events, the association supports both the old and new generations of the Bangladeshi diaspora in preserving their heritage. The organization organizes street fairs and cultural programs to foster a sense of community and cultural identity among its members.

Goals and Objectives

The goals and objectives of the Bangladeshi American Cultural Association are to:

  • Preserve and promote the culture and heritage of Bangladesh for the new generation of Bangladeshis.
  • Provide assistance and cooperation to members in need and facing challenges.
  • Establish Bangla and music schools to foster Bangladeshi culture among the new generation.
  • Offer immigration services and provide help to immigrants in accessing health care.
  • Organize street fairs and cultural events annually to showcase Bangladeshi culture and heritage.
  • Publish souvenirs to promote Bangla literature among the new generation.
  • Organize annual picnics for the recreation of the Bangladeshi people.
  • Organize Iftar parties during Ramadan, reunions during Eid and Durga Puja, and other cultural events.
  • Celebrate national days of Bangladesh, such as Independence Day, Martyrs’ Day, and Victory Day.
  • Encourage the new generation in education and offer rewards to meritorious students.
  • Provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by natural calamities, including floods, droughts, etc.
Membership:

Members of the organization will be categorized into two types: general members and life members.

  1. General members: Any Bangladeshi over 18 can become a general member for a year by depositing $20. Renewal is available each year.
  2. Life members: Bangladeshis living in the USA who are 18 or older can become lifetime members by paying a one-time fee of $200. Lifetime members do not need to renew their membership.
