Description
The Greater Noakhali Society USA, Inc. is a non-profit organization that connects people from the Noakhali region of Bangladesh who have immigrated to the United States over time. Noakhali is a district in Bangladesh. The society was established in 2003 in Brooklyn, New York City. Its primary objective is to provide a platform for the Noakhali community to communicate and engage with each other. The society actively participates in various Bangladeshi cultural and religious events, including Ekushey, the Bangla New Year (Bangla Noboborsho), Bangladesh Independence Day, Iftar, and Ramadan.
The society’s goals are
- to celebrate and promote Bangladeshi culture, heritage, and tradition in New York and the USA
- to inspire and engage the younger generations to know more about Bangladeshi culture
- to invite, inspire, and engage people from other cultures to exchange cultural understanding, show tolerance, and celebrate each other’s cultures
- to recognize elders/families of Noakhali, as well as the Bangladeshi community
- to promote the works of the great minds of Bangladesh, etc.
